GEORGETOWN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT'S DEFINITION OF GIFTED

Georgetown ISD defines gifted and talented as any child or youth in grades K-12 who performs at, or shows the potential for performing at, a remarkably high level of accomplishment when compared to others of the same age, experience, or environment and who exhibits high performance capability in general intellectual ability.

GIFTED/TALENTED PROGRAM​

Students identified for the G/T program are serviced by several certified G/T teachers. G/T students are placed with G/T cluster/homeroom teachers who will provide differentiation as needed for each of the core subjects: Math, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies. In addition to differentiation in their regular classrooms, 3rd – 5th grade G/T students are pulled out for 180 minutes each week for G/T Extension class. 1st & 2nd graders are in G/T Extension class for 150 minutes each week.

G/T EXTENSION​
G/T Extension is an interdisciplinary project based class designed specifically for gifted learners. The lessons and projects consists of all academic areas: Language Arts, Social Studies & STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math.)
